Meet Mali
Mali Lipchik Brodt is a lifelong advocate for strong, equitable public education. With almost 20 years of experience in education, she has dedicated her career to supporting students' academic and emotional well-being, fostering inclusive learning environments, and ensuring that all children have access to the resources they need to succeed.
After spending 16 years as a Middle School teacher, Mali made the transition to counseling after witnessing the increase in social-emotional and mental health challenges faced by students. She saw first hand how academic success is deeply connected to emotional well-being and therefore felt compelled to take a more direct role in supporting students beyond the classroom.
Mali is deeply invested in Newton Public Schools. She and her husband have lived in Newton for 10 years, where they are raising their three daughters who attend NPS. As both a parent and an educator, she believes schools should be places where every child feels values, supported, and empowered to succeed.
Mali holds a B.A. in History and American Studies, an M.A. in History, and M.Ed. in both Secondary Teaching and Counseling. She taught Humanities and English at Quincy Upper School in Boston and The Rashi School in Dedham, respectively. Mali is currently the School Adjustment Counselor at Pine Hill Elementary School in Westwood.
Mali served in the Mason-Rice PTO Board and has consistently supported the Mason-Rice Auction in support of enrichment programming for the school.
